Overall, the DeWalt DWE7491RS Jobsite Table Saw is a reliable saw that offers excellent quality and performance in a compact design. It can handle dado cuts up to 13/16-inch wide with the appropriate blade and throat plate. With a 10-inch blade and 32½-inch rip capacity-the rack-and-pinion fence rails extend smoothly and sturdily for oversize boards-and 15-amp motor capable of up to 4800 rpm, the DWE7491RS is more than prepared to deliver 3⅛-inch deep cuts to thick slabs of wood effectively. We were confident in the fence and its measurements, allowing us to work more efficiently without repeatedly measuring everything. The fence system of the DEWALT saw, which serves as a guide for boards running parallel to the blade, is equipped with a rack-and-pinion mechanism that can be adjusted by hand. The DWE7491RS's table measures 26.25 by 22 inches, although its sturdy wheeled stand makes it fairly easy to push out of the way when not in use. Additionally, the tool's folding stand was greatly appreciated as it facilitated the effortless movement of the saw to any desired location. We were truly impressed by the saw's exceptional ability to slice through a wide range of materials and boards with remarkable ease and speed. I built an outfeed table and an infeed table which have greatly enhanced the performance and versatility of this saw. I replaced mine with an Incra model that is excellent and added LeeCraft zero clearance inserts for tear out free work.

The fence is a strong point on this saw, however the included miter gauge is worthless. Very little tuning was needed, but the adjustments are designed into this saw if needed. I took the time with a dial indicator to make sure that the miter slots are parallel to the blade and likewise for the rip fence. Of course the feed rate is slower than my old cabinet saw, but it is a well built tool for the compromises that have to be made with lightweight portable jobsite saws. I run full kerf Forrest WW II blades with out problems and it spins a full sized 8' dado just fine. It has really surprised me about how capable it is. I wanted to rip narrow pieces for face frame and door frames and got the 7491.

I downsized from a 3HP Unisaw and went with out a table saw for a couple of years using only a track saw. If it is the 7491 RS, it is one great saw.
